The painting depicts a woman jumping into a swimming pool, dressed in a red bathing suit. At first glance, it appears to be an everyday summer scene, but upon closer inspection, one notices that the woman is holding the edge of the pool with one hand. It seems as if she is not sure how much water is in the pool and is jumping cautiously as a precaution. Are there dangers of which the woman is unaware? Only her leap into the unknown will answer this. This work revolves around the feeling one has when taking a new step in life: the uncertainty, the caution, and the courage needed to face the unknown.
